Shell oil has long been associated with milage runs. Here in 2008 it's called Shell's Eco Marathon, but if you were around in the 1970's you might remember some of their high milage claims. The little Fiat 600 pictured here was tested and achieved 244.35 mpg. The plans are to restore it and compete again. If you would like more information, start your search for the book "Fuel Economy of the Gasoline Engine" look up (ISBN 0-470-99132-1) published in 1977 by some "In the know" workers at Shell.
