The Austin Mini was one of those amazing designs.
- Transverse-mounted engine
- Front-wheel-drive
- Race & Rally success
- Excellent use of space (door pockets will fit a bottle of Gordon's Gin)
In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th Century, behind the Ford Model T. The car had a production run of 41 years, and when it came time to film a remake of The Italian Job (1969 original), the producers had to wait until the new MINI was available. (The remake was filmed in 2003.)
