Today we have a BMW Isetta 600, well it used to be 600. This show car boasts
a bit more than that now. I'm sure this wild ride has introduced some youngsters
to the world of Micros and Minis that weren't familiar with them before.

Hoba: A Czech Three-Wheeler

Here's an interesting car -- found on the "Find Rare Car" site. Check it out, the site profiles some very unusual cars.

František Honc, living in Bakov (hence the name Hoba) designed an automobile to be based on a much better known Czech automobile - Velorex.

He constructed 2 cars named Hoba I and Hoba II on Velorex 16/250 and 16/350 respectively. Since Mr. Honc had been working at AZNP factory, better known as Skoda, he was skilled enough to produce atractive automobiles of high quality. However, after two mentioned cars were produced, the moulds were sold and additional number (unfortunately unknown) of Hobas were made.

In 1979 the second, more modern model - Hoba II, based on Velorex Oskar was produced.

A Fast Microcar that's a Real "Logo Salad"

We love the cars that came out of the association between Fiat and Abarth -- but the coolest have to be the "Record" cars, built solely to set long-distance speed records.

But this car is what we'd really have to call a "Logo Salad". It is labeled "Fiat 500" on the hood, with the Abarth crest. "ABARTH" is displayed prominently on the sides, and the Pininfarina logo is just behind the window. (We'd like to have been a fly on the wall at one of the design meetings.)

What is that old saying -- "Making a Silk Purse out of a Sow's Ear"?

One might argue that an "Art Trabi" is just that. Putting a lot of effort into a "throw-away" car. But isn't that what real art is all about? Making something unique and beautiful out of the mundane.

Exceptional Trabant whose bodywork has been entirely transformed by hand by the celebrated French artist Yvon Taillandier. One of the 6 Trabants commissioned to commemorate the fall of the Berlin wall.The vehicle was then sold at a charity auction and subsequently has been stored under optimal conditions and has remained untouched since then. The artist’s work shows no sign of wear of scratches. We haven’t attempted to start the vehicle as it's light enough to be pushed and the brakes work properly. A service to return the vehicle to the road could be planned for limited cost but till now no one has seen the need.The big advantage of the Trabants consists in their plastic bodywork which is completely impervious to corrosion and hard to recycle. While this was a handicap of the millions which ran on the road of the ex-DDR but is a distinct advantage for the six examples which were hand painted by celebrated contemporary artists. The continued stability of the artwork is thus assured which is unfortunately not the case for many "Art cars" whose bodywork is subject to corrosion of is in polyester which can tend to rot. Minicars - Sort of

Yeserday we had little limos, today we have a bunch of shorty cars.
They're not really micro or minicars (except for that Honda) but what
the hey, they are kinda like a minicar wannabe.

little LIMOS

We've featured small limos before as a novelty. So why not a few more.
A little Lada up top, a Yugo and a Fiat 500. I hope these things are hopped up.
